This workshop is aimed at counsellors, supervisors, social workers, teachers, nurses, midwives, carers and anyone who works with clients affected by stress, anxiety, depression and trauma.
Irrespective of your modality, this is an opportunity to learn a holistic - mind, body, spirit and emotions - way of working that is practical and empowering and which can be used alongside traditional talking therapies.
Summary:
The fight/flight/freeze response in the body, enables us to survive, and is highly effective in times of danger, but if that energy is not resolved or discharged, it can result in physical and psychological symptoms including depression, fear, grief, anxiety, anger suicidal thoughts, burnout and loss of a sense of the future
This workshop will focus on the energy system: learning practices to awaken, strengthen and nourish the healthy flow and balance of energy whilst also promoting the unblocking and discharging of energy which can remain trapped in the body.
Aims for the day. You will learn:
· a variety of healing tools and resources which are easy to learn, easy to use and easy to share
· how neuroscience and polyvagal theory support a somatic approach
· to be more present and aware of yourself and your body and better connected with your own inner resources
· to empower your clients in the healing process and to better accompany them to rebuild their lives
The practices you will learn include:
· body work and movement
· breathing, centring & grounding
· tapping from EFT (emotional freedom technique)
· cross lateral exercises
· acupressure points
· TFT (though field therapy)
· practices for protection from difficult energy
· finger holds for managing emotions
